| LIEKKI application designer v3.3 – features |
|
|
LIEKKI application designer (LAD) v3.3 consists of a broad range of component models, calculation algorithms and reporting tools embedded in a user-friendly graphic interface. This allows fast and accurate simulations for performance evaluation for fiber based lasers, amplifiers, and amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) sources.
New LAD v3.3 features
- Enhanced Monte Carlo analysis
LAD v3.3 allows to set simultaneously the tolerances for both wavelength and amplitude values of a spectrum. Thus a complete analysis of applications that use filters, fiber bragg gratings and/or similar wavelength dependent components is possible.
- Enhanced multimode simulation
LAD v3.3 allows to set the input power for each mode when simulating an active fiber in multimode regime.
- Enhanced calculation algorithm
LAD v3.3 has an improved calculation algorithm that reduces the calculation time for systems having high reflectivity components, like fiber lasers (compared to LAD v3.2).
- More keyboard shortcuts
LAD v3.3 provides a series of shortcuts during design mode. Any component from the toolbox may be selected just by key strokes.
- Data storage between simulations
LAD v3.3 stores the last data you have entered to launch the Monte Carlo and transient simulations.
Other changes in LAD v3.3
- LAD v3.3 has an improved compatibility with RSoft's OptSim software. OptSim users can use LAD projects as building blocks in OptSim designs. Therefore LAD v3.3 provides two new components: input port and output port. These components can be used to define the input and output of the LAD block.
- Because of the increasing complexity of the LIEKKI optical engines, the optical engine components have been removed from the LAD toolbox. They have been replaced by ready made project files downloadable from the LIEKKI website.
- The following known bugs have been fixed:
- The numerical values on x- and y-axes for 3D-charts saved in a tab separated value file have been corrected
- Iterations on bending radius of an active fiber have been corrected
- Transient analysis can be used even though the sources are set OFF
